Privacy Policy

Market Line Intelligence Ltd. ("the Company", "we", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal data you share with us when you use www.marketline.com.cy.

Personal data collected through this website is processed in accordance with the Processing of Personal Data (Protection of the Individual) Law 138(I)/2001 of the Republic of Cyprus, as amended, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation 2016/679 — "GDPR").

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Notice on Market Line AI-Generated Reports.

Reports produced through our platform are generated with the assistance of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools that analyse publicly available records, information sourced from data breaches, and social-media activity. Throughout this process, our systems operate in line with applicable EU rules — including the EU AI Act — and are designed around the principles of transparency, accountability, and fairness.

Our AI tooling helps identify and mitigate cyber threats and privacy risks by continuously processing data, detecting patterns, and tracing the origin of malicious activity. All data handled in this process is treated responsibly and in accordance with applicable privacy laws, ensuring that the rights of the individuals whose information is processed remain protected.

What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)?

AI refers to a machine that displays human-like capabilities such as reasoning, learning, planning, and creativity.

AI enables technical systems such as those operated by Market Line to perceive their environment, work with what they perceive, solve problems, and act toward a specific goal. The system receives data — either already prepared or gathered directly — processes it, and responds accordingly.

AI systems can adapt their behaviour to a certain degree by analysing the effects of previous actions and operating autonomously. Search engines, for example, learn from the vast input of their users to deliver relevant results. Market Line's AI stack works in the same spirit: it identifies patterns, detects threats, and helps to investigate and trace attacks on the basis of continuous data input.

Market Line follows the AI Act: different rules for different risk levels

The EU AI Act establishes obligations for providers and users that scale with the level of risk posed by each AI system. While many AI systems present only minimal risk, they still need to be properly assessed.

1. Introduction

Market Line Intelligence Ltd. is committed to ensuring that the AI tools and systems we develop and operate, designed to help users manage and anonymise their digital footprint, comply with the EU AI Act and all other applicable data-protection regulations. This AI Policy sets out our approach to responsible AI use, transparency, fairness, accountability, and user empowerment.

2. Scope and Purpose

Our AI-powered tools are built to assist users in managing and anonymising their digital footprint. They interact with search engines, public records, data-breach archives, and social-media platforms to help users:

  • Remove or anonymise personally identifiable information (PII) from public sources.
  • Identify and manage data breaches that may expose their personal data.
  • Reduce their exposure on social media and other online platforms and protect their privacy.

The AI tools process data to deliver these outcomes, with a consistent focus on user privacy, data protection, and compliance with the EU AI Act.

3. AI System Classification

In line with the EU AI Act, our AI systems are classified according to risk level. The tools we use are generally considered low- or minimal-risk, as they assist users in managing their own personal information. We nevertheless recognise the inherent sensitivities of handling personal data and apply strong safeguards to mitigate any residual risk.

4. Transparency and Information to Users

We believe transparency is essential when operating AI systems. To that end, Market Line will:

  • Clearly inform users how AI tools are being used to interact with their data.
  • Provide understandable information about each AI system's functionality, the purpose of data processing, and the associated risks.
  • Inform users whenever AI is involved in a decision-making process — for example, when identifying personal information for removal or anonymisation.

5. Data Protection and Privacy

Market Line adheres to strict data-protection standards in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the EU AI Act:

  • Data minimisation: we collect only the data necessary to achieve the objectives described above, and anonymise or pseudonymise it wherever practicable.
  • User consent: explicit consent is obtained before personal data is collected or processed through our AI-powered services, and users may withdraw that consent at any time.
  • Right of access and rectification: users may request access to their data and correction of any inaccuracies in the personal information we process.
  • Data retention: we retain user data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the objectives of the service and to meet our legal obligations.

6. Risk Management and Mitigation

We have put measures in place to mitigate the risks associated with AI systems, including:

  • Bias mitigation: regular audits ensure our AI systems do not discriminate against specific groups or individuals, and we actively work to remove unintended bias from algorithms and training data.
  • Human oversight: although our AI tools operate autonomously, human review is always available where a decision may have a significant impact on a user.
  • Continuous monitoring: we monitor AI-system performance and accuracy to ensure outputs remain within expected parameters and continue to be reliable.
  • Error handling: protocols are in place to detect and resolve errors, and to provide remedies to users in the event that personal data is mishandled.

7. Accountability and Auditing

Market Line is committed to ensuring the accountability of its AI systems. To support this:

  • Internal audits: regular internal audits assess compliance with the EU AI Act, GDPR, and other relevant regulations.
  • Third-party audits: we may engage independent third parties to evaluate the impact and performance of our AI tools, reinforcing transparency and accountability for our users.
  • Record-keeping: we maintain logs of AI-system interactions and decision-making processes so that accountability can be established in the event of disputes or regulatory inquiries.

8. Safety and Security Measures

We prioritise the safety and security of user data:

  • Data encryption: all personal data processed by our AI tools is encrypted in transit and at rest to prevent unauthorised access.
  • Access control: robust access controls restrict data access to authorised personnel only.
  • Incident response: in the event of a data breach, we comply with GDPR requirements to notify affected users within 72 hours and take prompt action to mitigate any harm.

9. User Rights and Control

Users have the following rights in relation to their data and AI-powered services:

  • Right to withdraw consent: consent to AI-based services can be withdrawn at any time, after which further processing will cease.
  • Right to contest decisions: users may contest any automated decision made by an AI tool and request human intervention in the decision-making process.
  • Right to erasure: users may request deletion of their data from our systems at any time, subject to any overriding legal obligations.

10. Ethical Considerations

Market Line is committed to the ethical use of AI. In practice, this means ensuring that:

  • AI tools are used responsibly and to the benefit of users.
  • AI systems are developed and deployed in a way that promotes user autonomy and dignity.
  • AI is never used in ways that could harm individuals or undermine their privacy rights.

11. Compliance with the EU AI Act

Market Line operates in full compliance with the EU AI Act. In particular, we:

  • Follow the risk-classification system established for AI systems.
  • Maintain robust documentation practices covering AI development and deployment.
  • Meet the transparency and accountability requirements of the Act, including informing users about the AI systems in use.

12. Unacceptable Risk

AI systems that present an unacceptable risk are considered a threat to people and are banned under the EU AI Act. They include:

  • Cognitive-behavioural manipulation of people or specific vulnerable groups — for example, voice-activated toys that encourage dangerous behaviour in children.
  • Social scoring — classifying people on the basis of behaviour, socio-economic status, or personal characteristics.
  • Biometric identification and categorisation of people.
  • Real-time and remote biometric-identification systems, such as facial recognition.

Some narrow exceptions are permitted for law-enforcement purposes. "Real-time" remote biometric identification is allowed only in a limited set of serious cases, while "post" remote biometric identification (where identification occurs after a significant delay) is allowed only to prosecute serious crimes and only with prior court approval.

Market Line does not use any of the above.

High Risk

AI systems that negatively affect safety or fundamental rights are considered high-risk and fall into two categories:

  1. AI systems used in products covered by the EU's product-safety legislation — for example, toys, aviation, cars, medical devices, and lifts.
  2. AI systems operating in specific areas that must be registered in an EU database:
    • Management and operation of critical infrastructure.
    • Education and vocational training.
    • Employment, worker management, and access to self-employment.
    • Access to and enjoyment of essential private services and public services and benefits.
    • Law enforcement.
    • Migration, asylum, and border-control management.
    • Assistance in legal interpretation and application of the law.

All high-risk AI systems are assessed before being placed on the market and throughout their lifecycle. People have the right to file complaints about AI systems with designated national authorities.

Market Line does not use any of the above.

Transparency Requirements

Generative AI, such as ChatGPT, is not classified as high-risk, but it must comply with transparency requirements and EU copyright law. In practice, this means that:

  • Market Line discloses when content has been generated by AI and presents all sources used within each report.
  • Models are designed to prevent the generation of illegal content.
  • Summaries of copyrighted data used for training are published where applicable.
  • All underlying data sources are provided to the user.

13. Conclusion

This AI Policy reflects Market Line Intelligence Ltd.'s commitment to building and maintaining responsible, ethical, and transparent AI systems. Our tools are designed to empower users to manage and anonymise their digital footprint while protecting their privacy rights, in full compliance with the EU AI Act and the GDPR. We continue to prioritise the safety, security, and ethical use of AI in order to maintain the trust of our users and stakeholders.
